There are different types of hair falls such as involutional alopecia, androgenic alopecia, alopecia areata and alopecia universalis.
- Involutional alopecia: It is a natural condition, where hair thinning begins owing to age of the person. More hair follicles go into resting phase and remaining hairs becomes shorter and thinner.
- Androgenic alopecia: It is ideally a genetic condition that arises in both men and women and can begin as early as teens or in early 20s.
- Alopecia areata: It occurs in young adults and causes patch hair loss. This results in incomplete baldness.
- Alopecia universalis: It is a condition when hairs from entire body starts to shed off, including, scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes and pubic hair.
